RMC Switchgears has secured Letters of Award (LOAs) worth approximately ₹14.98 crore from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply and installation of off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems in Maharashtra.
The orders have been awarded under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana and PM-KUSUM B Scheme, supporting the deployment of solar-powered irrigation solutions for farmers across the state.
Under the contract, RMC Switchgears will undertake the design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of off-grid DC solar water pumping systems with capacities of 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP. The systems will be installed at identified farmers’ sites across Maharashtra.
The scope of the order also includes a complete system warranty, repair and maintenance services, along with a remote monitoring system for a period of five years. This integrated approach is expected to support reliable operation and long-term performance of the installed solar pumping systems.
The order strengthens RMC Switchgears’ presence in Maharashtra’s growing solar agriculture segment and highlights the increasing adoption of decentralised renewable energy solutions for irrigation. Solar-powered agricultural pumps can help farmers reduce dependence on conventional electricity and diesel-based pumping, while supporting cleaner and more sustainable farming practices.
The development also aligns with the broader objectives of PM-KUSUM and Maharashtra’s efforts to expand solar-based irrigation infrastructure. Through such programmes, solar pumping systems are being deployed to improve access to reliable energy for agricultural applications while promoting the use of renewable energy in rural areas.
The latest ₹14.98 crore order adds to RMC Switchgears’ recent business momentum. The company had also received orders worth ₹344.10 crore in the previous month, including ₹333.80 crore worth of LOAs from Paschim Gujarat Vij Company for underground network conversion and related infrastructure works.
