Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited has expanded beyond its core renewable energy operations by entering the data centre and digital infrastructure segment through a new step-down subsidiary, Sunstar Data Centers Private Limited.
Sunstar Data Centers was incorporated on September 11, 2026, under Waaree Green Data Centers Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Renewable Technologies. The new entity will focus on establishing, developing and operating data centre infrastructure, including hyperscale, AI-ready and edge data centres.
The move marks Waaree Renewable Technologies’ diversification into the rapidly growing digital infrastructure sector, while creating potential synergies between data centre power requirements and the company’s renewable energy and energy-storage capabilities.
