Agastya Energy and Infrastructure Ltd. has approved a preferential issue of equity shares and convertible warrants aggregating approximately INR 566 crore, marking a significant capital-raising initiative to strengthen its financial position and support long-term growth across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Formerly known as Sanginita Chemicals Ltd., Agastya Energy and Infrastructure is part of the Anubhav Agarwal Group (AAG). The company announced that its Board of Directors has approved the proposed preferential issue as part of its broader strategy to expand its presence in India’s evolving energy landscape.
The proposed fundraise is expected to provide the company with additional financial resources to pursue emerging opportunities in renewable energy and infrastructure. The investment will also support Agastya’s efforts to build a stronger foundation for sustainable business expansion and future project development.
According to the company, the preferential issue reflects the confidence of the promoter group and participating investors in Agastya Energy’s strategic direction and long-term growth potential. The capital infusion is expected to enhance financial flexibility while enabling the company to explore opportunities in India’s rapidly developing clean energy sector.
Commenting on the announcement, Anubhav Agarwal, Chairman of AAG, said the investment represents an important milestone in Agastya’s growth journey and reinforces the group’s confidence in the company’s long-term vision.
“With a stronger financial foundation, Agastya will be well positioned to pursue emerging opportunities across India’s rapidly evolving energy and infrastructure landscape, while maintaining a disciplined approach to growth, execution and sustainable value creation,” Agarwal said.
The INR 566 crore preferential issue comes at a time when India’s renewable energy and infrastructure sectors continue to attract significant investments. Companies are increasingly focusing on strengthening balance sheets, expanding project portfolios and developing capabilities aligned with the country’s growing clean energy requirements.
Agastya Energy’s latest fundraising initiative is expected to play a key role in supporting its future expansion plans as the company seeks to participate in emerging opportunities across renewable energy and related infrastructure segments.
