NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has emerged as a successful bidder in SECI’s 6,000 MWh Assured Peak Power tender under the FDRE-IX programme.

The company secured 500 MW of contracted capacity at a discovered tariff of ₹6.00 per kWh in the e-reverse auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

The tender involves the selection of renewable energy power developers for supplying 6,000 MWh of assured peak power, equivalent to 1,500 MW for four hours, from ISTS-connected renewable energy projects across India under tariff-based competitive bidding.

The auction was conducted under the SECI-FDRE-IX tender, designed to support reliable and dispatchable renewable energy supply during peak demand periods. The e-reverse auction concluded on August 21, 2026.

NTPC REL’s successful bid further strengthens the NTPC Green Energy portfolio in firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects, as India increasingly focuses on combining renewable generation with energy storage and other solutions to provide assured power supply.
