Waaree Renewable Technologies has secured a major Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) order for a 291 MWp solar photovoltaic project integrated with a 280 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
The project marks another significant development in India’s growing solar-plus-storage market, where hybrid renewable energy projects are gaining importance for improving grid flexibility and enabling more reliable and dispatchable power supply.
The project will combine 291 MWp of solar PV capacity with 280 MWh of battery storage, creating an integrated renewable energy asset designed to support flexible power delivery. The integration of BESS also highlights the increasing role of energy storage in managing the intermittent nature of renewable generation.
The project is expected to be completed during FY 2027–28, adding to the deployment of large-scale renewable energy and storage infrastructure across India.
The latest EPC order further strengthens Waaree Renewable Technologies’ presence in the utility-scale solar and energy storage segment. As India continues to expand its renewable energy capacity, projects combining solar generation with battery storage are expected to become increasingly important for supporting grid stability and flexible clean power supply.
