Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has operationalised a 139 MW solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat, through its wholly owned step-down subsidiary Adani Green Energy Twenty Six A.
The project was commercially operationalised on September 1, 2026, following receipt of the required clearances. With the addition, AGEL’s total operational renewable energy generation capacity has increased to 20,280.80 MW. The company also has 3,551 MWh of operational battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity.
The latest commissioning further strengthens AGEL’s position at the Khavda renewable energy site, where the company is developing a massive 30 GW renewable energy project by 2029. The project spans around 538 sq km, and AGEL has already installed approximately 10 GW of cumulative capacity at the site.
AGEL’s operational renewable portfolio currently comprises around 14.3 GW of solar, 2.7 GW of wind and 3.3 GW of wind-solar hybrid capacity, alongside its growing battery storage portfolio.
The company crossed the 20 GW operational renewable energy milestone in July 2026, becoming the first renewable energy company in India to achieve the milestone predominantly through greenfield development. AGEL added 5,051 MW of renewable capacity in FY26, including 3,409 MW of solar, 686 MW of wind and 956 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity.
AGEL is targeting 50 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. It also plans to add 10 GWh of battery storage capacity in FY27 and expand its overall BESS portfolio to 50 GWh over the next five years, supporting the integration of large-scale renewable power into the grid.
