GAIL (India) Limited has floated a tender to appoint a Project Management Consultant (PMC) for the development of a 100 MW ground-mounted solar power project integrated with 22 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Maharashtra. The project is primarily aimed at meeting GAIL’s captive power requirements.
The renewable energy generated from the project will primarily be used for internal consumption at GAIL’s plants. Power evacuation is planned through a 132/220 kV transmission line to a Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) substation.
The project will be implemented on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis, with the appointed PMC expected to act as an extension of GAIL and safeguard the company’s interests throughout the project lifecycle.
The PMC’s scope will include reviewing engineering designs, drawings, layouts, datasheets and quality assurance plans. It will also undertake quality inspections, monitor and expedite equipment and material supplies, and supervise installation, testing and commissioning activities at the project site.
The consultant will further oversee guarantee-related obligations, contractual requirements and submission of final project documentation, while coordinating various project activities to support completion within the approved cost and schedule and in line with required quality, safety and performance standards.
The last date for submission of bids is September 30, 2026, while the techno-commercial bids are scheduled to be opened on October 1, 2026.
Eligible bidders must have successfully provided PMC, Owner’s Engineering or similar services for solar PV projects during the past seven years. The tender specifies experience requirements based on projects of at least 80 MW under one contract, 50 MW each under two contracts, or 40 MW each under three contracts. The bidder must also have an average annual turnover of at least ₹44 lakh during the three preceding financial years.
The tender forms part of GAIL’s broader efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio and increase the use of clean power for its operations.
