The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I for solar PV modules, adding 12,256 MW of capacity in September 2026. The latest update takes the cumulative solar module manufacturing capacity enlisted under ALMM List-I to 228,524 MW, or about 228.5 GW.
The September update includes 12 new manufacturers, which together have added 5,599 MW of capacity to the ALMM list. The new entrants include Atal Solar with 1,440 MW, Solberry Energy with 1,038 MW, Nelson Surface LLP (Nelson Solar) with 1,001 MW, VSOLE Power with 736 MW, Radiantgreen Energy and Aelius Turbina with 347 MW each, SKKYTOP Power with 231 MW and Multi Infrastructure & Engineering with 225 MW. CRK Renewable Energies, Himalayan Solar, Satyam Enterprises and Padmapat Energy have also been added with capacities of 70 MW, 63 MW, 65 MW and 36 MW, respectively.
Existing manufacturers also contributed significantly to the increase. VSL Green Power (Vikram Solar) added 2,573 MW from a new plant in Tamil Nadu, while Fujiyama Power System added 1,810 MW from its new plant in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. Alpex Solar added a combined 1,332 MW through a new line at Greater Noida and increased capacity at its Surjapur plant. Bluebird Solar and Knack Energy added 830 MW and 112 MW, respectively.
The previous ALMM List-I update, issued on August 3, 2026, had taken the enlisted module capacity to 216,268 MW. The September update therefore represents an increase of 12,256 MW over the previous list.
Alongside modules, the ALMM framework now also covers solar PV cells under List-II. The August 2026 update added 3,709 MW of TOPCon cell capacity, taking the cumulative enlisted solar cell manufacturing capacity to 35,467 MW.
