Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd. (WRTL) is expanding its business beyond renewable energy with the incorporation of two new subsidiaries focused on data centre and digital infrastructure.
The company has incorporated Sunstar Data Centers Pvt. Ltd. and Aurovault Data Centers Pvt. Ltd. under its data-centre platform. The proposed businesses will focus on hyperscale and AI-ready data centres, edge facilities, colocation, cloud infrastructure, GPU hosting and high-performance computing.
The expansion comes as the growing adoption of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and high-performance computing is driving demand for reliable and uninterrupted electricity. Data centres require high-quality power infrastructure, creating potential synergies between renewable energy generation, battery energy storage systems, grid infrastructure and digital infrastructure.
For WRTL, the move represents a strategic expansion into a rapidly developing segment where renewable power and digital infrastructure are increasingly interconnected.
The newly incorporated entities are currently at an early stage and have not commenced commercial operations. The development therefore marks a strategic entry into the data-centre sector rather than an immediate addition to operating capacity.
