Borosil Renewables Revises Furnace Expansion Cost to ₹1,100 Crore
Borosil Renewables has revised the estimated investment for its 600 TPD solar glass capacity expansion at Bharuch, Gujarat, to ₹1,100 crore from the earlier ₹950 crore.
The expansion involves two new 300 TPD furnaces, SG-4 and SG-5, which will increase the company’s total installed capacity from 1,000 TPD to 1,600 TPD once operational.
The commissioning timeline has also been extended from December 2026 to the end of March 2027. The company attributed the delay and higher costs to supply-chain disruptions, exchange-rate fluctuations, higher commodity costs and an expanded project scope amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.
The additional ₹150 crore outlay will be funded entirely through internal funds, without an increase in borrowings. The company expects the expanded capacity to support higher production volumes and sales.
