Avaada Group Plans ₹40,000 Crore Investment in Green Ammonia and Methanol Projects
Avaada Group is planning a major expansion into green fuels, with a proposed investment of around ₹40,000 crore in green ammonia and green methanol projects in India. The plan includes an investment of approximately ₹20,000 crore each for a green ammonia project in Gopalpur, Odisha, and a proposed green methanol facility in Maharashtra.
The Gopalpur project is expected to be commissioned around 2030, while the proposed Maharashtra project is still in the planning stage, with land allocation and project size yet to be finalised. Avaada is also pursuing discussions with potential buyers for long-term green ammonia supply agreements.
The investment plan reflects the growing focus on green molecules as India looks to decarbonise industries and develop low-carbon alternatives for sectors such as fertilisers, shipping and other industrial applications.
Avaada has also outlined a broader investment ambition of around ₹1 lakh crore over the next three to four years, supporting its expansion across renewable energy, manufacturing and green fuels.
