KPI Green Energy, a KP Group company, is set to develop a 110 MW AC/142 MW DC floating solar project at Kadana Dam in Gujarat for Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL). The foundation stone for the project was laid online by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The project marks KP Group’s entry into large-scale floating solar technology and expands its capabilities across the renewable energy value chain. The floating solar facility will be developed at the Kadana Dam reservoir in Gujarat, supporting the state’s efforts to expand clean energy generation.
KPI Green Energy will undertake the development of the project under the leadership of KP Group Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Faruk G. Patel. The company has stated its commitment to managing the project across engineering, construction, grid connectivity and long-term operations while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency and quality.
The Kadana Dam project further strengthens KPI Green Energy’s expanding renewable energy portfolio, which spans solar, wind, hybrid renewable energy and battery energy storage systems. The company has also been developing capabilities in emerging areas such as floating solar and energy trading.
The project represents another step in the growing adoption of floating photovoltaic technology in India, enabling renewable power generation through the utilisation of water surfaces while supporting the country’s broader clean energy transition.
