Premier Energies and RCT India, part of Germany-based RCT Group, have signed a binding term sheet to establish a joint venture for a 12 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility in Telangana.
The proposed facility will be developed through Premier Energies’ subsidiary, Premier Battery Technologies, with the first phase planned at 6 GWh. Phase 1 is expected to be established in FY 2027-28 at Seetharampur, Telangana.
The facility will manufacture BESS solutions for commercial, industrial and utility-scale applications, serving both Indian and international markets. The partners also intend to develop the facility as an export-oriented manufacturing platform.
The joint venture will combine Premier Energies’ manufacturing capabilities with RCT’s engineering expertise, global energy-sector experience and international supply-chain network.
The partnership marks Premier Energies’ expansion beyond solar cell and module manufacturing into the battery energy storage segment, strengthening its presence across the broader clean-energy value chain.
The proposed facility is expected to support India’s growing demand for energy storage as renewable energy capacity expands and the need for grid flexibility and reliable power increases.
