Bajel Projects Limited has announced that its associate company, AnantGrid Projects One Private Limited (AGPOPL), has emerged as the successful bidder for a major inter-state power transmission project in Gujarat under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route.
AGPOPL has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) for the project after emerging as the lowest bidder in the e-reverse auction conducted on August 6 and 7, 2026.
The project, titled “Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5 GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1 GW) – Part-A,” involves the development of approximately 270 km of 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines between Halvad and Vadodara in Gujarat.
The scope of work also includes associated infrastructure works at the Halvad, Vadodara and South Olpad substations, strengthening the transmission network required to evacuate power from upcoming large-scale generation capacity in the region.
AGPOPL is jointly owned by the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF), which holds a 74% stake, and Bajel Projects, which holds the remaining 26% stake. The collaboration combines investment and asset-management capabilities with project development, project management and EPC expertise for pursuing transmission opportunities in India.
The project is expected to play an important role in strengthening Gujarat’s high-voltage transmission infrastructure and facilitating the evacuation of renewable and other generation capacity from key energy zones. The development also highlights the growing importance of robust transmission networks as India continues expanding its renewable energy capacity and integrating large-scale clean power projects into the national grid.
