Joint Solar Highlights Quality and Reliability as India Targets 500 GW Non-Fossil Power Capacity

India’s solar sector is entering a new phase where quality, reliability and long-term performance are becoming as important as rapid capacity additions.

Joint Solar highlighted that as India works towards its target of 500 GW of installed non-fossil fuel-based electricity generation capacity by 2030, the growing role of solar will require projects and systems capable of delivering consistent performance over the long term. 

According to Vinod Sharma, Director, Joint Solar, the industry’s priorities are shifting beyond simply adding capacity. Greater emphasis is now being placed on technology, product quality, system reliability and sustained energy generation throughout a project’s operating life. 

The focus on quality comes as India’s solar deployment continues to scale, making dependable equipment and long-term project performance increasingly critical to achieving the country’s clean-energy ambitions.
