HCLTech has reported significant progress in its sustainability journey during FY26, achieving its 2030 target for reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions four years ahead of schedule.
The company reduced its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 55.84% from its FY20 baseline, surpassing its target of a 50% reduction by 2030. Its overall Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions footprint also declined by 27.7% over the same period.
Renewable energy played a major role in this progress. 49.79% of HCLTech’s total energy consumption in FY26 came from renewable sources, while renewable energy accounted for 89.65% of the energy consumed by its data centres. Meanwhile, conventional energy consumption has fallen by 31% since FY20.
The company also reported progress in water stewardship and resource conservation. HCLTech replenished 51 times the volume of water consumed across its global operations and maintained a water consumption rate of 10.68 litres per capita per day. Its campuses in India have also maintained Zero Waste to Landfill Platinum certification since 2025.
The FY26 performance highlights the growing role of renewable energy, energy efficiency and responsible resource management in HCLTech’s sustainability strategy. The company continues to pursue its long-term climate goals and is targeting net-zero emissions by 2040.
