Waaree Energies has expanded its ALMM-listed solar cell portfolio with the addition of a TOPCon cell model, taking the company’s referenced capacity under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) framework to 4.02 GW.
The development comes as India continues to strengthen its domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem. The country’s approved solar cell manufacturing capacity under ALMM List-II has reached 39.4 GW following the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s ninth revision, which added 7,632 MW of capacity.
Waaree Energies’ latest addition reflects the increasing role of high-efficiency TOPCon technology in India’s rapidly growing solar manufacturing sector. The company’s ALMM-listed cell portfolio includes 4.02 GW of capacity, including 1.328 GW of Mono-PERC capacity, with TOPCon emerging as the newly added technology model.
The ALMM-listed capacity should be distinguished from Waaree Energies’ overall manufacturing footprint. The company currently has an overall solar cell manufacturing capacity of 5.4 GW and module manufacturing capacity of 25.8 GW.
The expansion highlights the continued development of domestic solar manufacturing capabilities and the growing transition towards advanced, high-efficiency cell technologies. As India expands its renewable energy ambitions and strengthens local supply chains, technologies such as TOPCon are expected to play an increasingly important role in the next phase of solar manufacturing growth.
