Shree Cement to Deploy 100 Electric Commercial Vehicles in 2026
Shree Cement is targeting the commissioning of around 100 electric commercial vehicles during 2026 as part of its efforts to reduce fossil-fuel consumption and improve logistics efficiency.
The company is also exploring the use of electric dumpers and dozers for mining operations, extending its electrification initiatives beyond road transportation.
Shree Cement said the fuel cost of electric commercial vehicles can be around one-tenth of comparable diesel vehicles, although actual savings depend on factors such as utilisation, charging infrastructure and upfront investment.
Meanwhile, renewable energy accounted for 66% of the company’s total energy mix in the latest quarter, up from 61%. The company has also begun small-scale deployment of BESS at selected locations to evaluate wider applications.
