Oswal Pumps to Set Up 1.2 GW Solar Cell Manufacturing Facility by April 2028

Oswal Pumps Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary Oswal Solar Energy Private Limited (OSEPL), has approved plans to establish a 1.2 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility, with commercial production expected to begin by April 2028.

The project entails an estimated investment of ₹456 crore and aims to strengthen the company’s backward integration across the solar manufacturing value chain.

The facility’s entire output will be used for captive consumption in the company’s in-house solar module manufacturing lines. It is expected to meet approximately 75% of Oswal Solar Energy’s total solar cell requirements, reducing dependence on external suppliers.

The investment is also intended to secure domestic-content-compliant solar cells for government-backed programmes such as PM-KUSUM and PM Surya Ghar, while improving supply reliability, cost control and manufacturing efficiency.

By bringing solar cell production in-house, Oswal Pumps aims to strengthen its competitiveness and build a more integrated solar solutions business.
