New Delhi: ReNew has secured USD 100 million in financing from FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank, to support its clean energy initiatives and accelerate India’s transition towards a sustainable energy future.

The financing highlights the role of international development finance in supporting India’s renewable energy sector, which continues to expand amid rising demand for clean electricity and efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

FMO’s financing is expected to support ReNew’s broader clean energy ambitions, strengthening the contribution of sustainable investments to India’s evolving energy landscape.

India has been accelerating its renewable energy deployment through investments in solar and wind power, energy storage and other low-carbon technologies. Funding from international financial institutions can help renewable energy companies advance projects, mobilise capital and support the country’s long-term energy transition goals.

The USD 100 million financing marks another development in the flow of global capital towards India’s clean energy sector, underscoring the importance of collaboration between renewable energy companies and development finance institutions.

As India works towards a more sustainable and secure energy system, such financing initiatives can play an important role in advancing renewable energy adoption and supporting long-term decarbonisation efforts.
