Adani Wind Secures 696.2 MW in New Orders as India’s Wind Energy Market Scales Up

Adani Wind, the wind energy business of Adani New Industries Ltd, has secured 696.2 MW of new wind turbine orders from five power producers, strengthening its position in India’s growing renewable energy manufacturing sector.

The orders have been placed by Purvah Green Power (300 MW), Jindal India Power Ltd. (155 MW), NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (109.2 MW), Aditya Birla Renewables Ltd. (82.5 MW), and Integrum Energy (49.5 MW).

The contracts cover 3.3 MW, 5 MW and 5.2 MW turbine platforms, with projects planned across Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra.

The new orders also take Adani Wind’s cumulative order book from independent power producers outside the Adani Group to more than 1 GW.

Adani Wind is further planning to expand its manufacturing capacity at Mundra, Gujarat, from 2.25 GW to 5 GW annually, with a longer-term target of 10 GW.

The expansion highlights the growing role of domestic wind-turbine manufacturing in India’s clean-energy transition, while creating opportunities across the renewable energy supply chain.
