Microtek International Invests Over ₹400 Crore in Solar Expansion, Plans New Manufacturing Plant in Jaipur

Microtek International Pvt. Ltd. has announced an investment of over ₹400 crore to expand its solar business, including a new solar panel manufacturing facility in Jaipur, Rajasthan, expected to commence operations by November 2026.

The investment marks a significant step in Microtek’s efforts to strengthen its presence in India’s growing renewable energy sector and expand its domestic solar manufacturing capabilities.

The planned Jaipur facility is expected to support the company’s solar panel manufacturing operations, contributing to the development of India’s domestic clean energy supply chain. The expansion comes amid increasing demand for solar power solutions and government initiatives encouraging rooftop solar adoption.

In addition to solar panel manufacturing, Microtek is looking to expand its battery energy storage systems (BESS) portfolio. Energy storage solutions are becoming increasingly important for improving power reliability, supporting renewable energy integration and managing fluctuations in solar generation.

Microtek’s existing product portfolio includes solar panels, solar inverters, lithium batteries, home inverters and UPS systems. These offerings position the company to serve residential and commercial consumers seeking reliable and efficient energy solutions, including those adopting rooftop solar under initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

The company also expects its revenue to reach ₹5,000 crore in FY2027, more than doubling its current level, with a longer-term ambition of achieving ₹10,000 crore within two years, according to the information provided.

The expansion highlights the growing role of domestic manufacturers in India’s clean energy transition. Alongside manufacturing growth, responsible sourcing, energy-efficient production, product durability and effective end-of-life recycling of solar panels and batteries will remain important for ensuring long-term sustainability.

With its planned investment and focus on solar manufacturing and energy storage, Microtek aims to strengthen its position in India’s evolving renewable energy market.
