Sahaj Solar Limited is expanding into the battery energy storage sector with plans to establish a 1.8 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility in Dakor, Gujarat, backed by an investment of approximately ₹725 crore.

The company expects the facility to begin operations by October 2027. The planned investment excludes the cost of the factory premises, which have already been constructed, and is expected to be financed through a combination of debt and internal accruals.

The facility is planned to serve both domestic and international markets, strengthening Sahaj Solar’s presence across the renewable energy value chain.

As India accelerates renewable energy deployment, BESS is becoming increasingly important for grid flexibility, renewable energy integration and reliable power supply.

Key Highlights

📍 Location: Dakor, Gujarat
🔋 Planned Capacity: 1.8 GWh
💰 Investment: Approximately ₹725 crore
📅 Expected Operations: October 2027
🌍 Target Markets: Domestic & International

The project marks another step in the expansion of India’s energy-storage manufacturing ecosystem and could create opportunities across battery technology, electrical equipment, automation, engineering, logistics and related supply chains.
