DRIVN, an EV leasing platform focused on heavy commercial fleets, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors to explore the leasing-based deployment of electric commercial vehicles across India. Under the partnership, DRIVN will offer customised leasing and financing solutions for Tata Motors’ electric commercial vehicle portfolio, helping fleet operators transition to electric mobility while reducing the upfront cost of vehicle acquisition.

The collaboration aims to address key challenges that can slow commercial EV adoption, including financing, vehicle deployment timelines and charging infrastructure. DRIVN and Tata Motors plan to deploy more than 1,000 electric trucks over the next two years, providing fleet operators with a scalable pathway to electrification.

Tata Motors has recently expanded its electric truck portfolio under the Tata Trucks.ev brand, with vehicles ranging from 7 tonnes to 55 tonnes. Built on the company’s I-MOEV architecture, the portfolio is designed for applications including e-commerce logistics, construction material transportation and port operations.

The partnership combines Tata Motors’ electric commercial vehicle portfolio with DRIVN’s leasing model, while also focusing on vehicle maintenance, uptime and operational efficiency. The companies expect the approach to make electric trucks more accessible and commercially viable for fleet operators.
