JSW Energy has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China-based Rongjie Energy, a part of RJE Tech, for the supply of 5 GWh of energy storage systems (ESS)

The agreement covers 5 MWh and 6.26 MWh ESS systems using Rongjie Energy’s 314Ah and newly mass-produced 588Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells. The solutions are intended to support JSW Energy’s expanding energy-storage requirements.

JSW Energy currently has an installed power-generation capacity of 13.45 GW and is targeting 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. The partnership with Rongjie Energy is expected to support this expansion and strengthen JSW Energy’s energy-transition plans.
