New Delhi, India: The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released a draft proposal introducing a standardized nomenclature for ALMM List-II Solar PV cell models to enhance product identification, traceability, and consistency across India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem.
The proposed 14-character alphanumeric code will include key technical parameters such as the origin of raw materials, cell technology, wafer size, and busbar configuration, enabling better standardization and transparency within the industry.
MNRE has invited industry stakeholders to submit their comments and feedback on the draft proposal by August 13, 2026, before finalizing the nomenclature framework.
