SECI Floats Tender for 1,200 MW / 4,800 MWh FDRE Supply
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited bids for 1,200 MW of assured peak power supply, equivalent to 4,800 MWh, from ISTS-connected renewable energy projects under its SECI-FDRE-X tender.
The tender seeks Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) through tariff-based competitive bidding, with energy storage systems (ESS) mandatory. Projects will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis, with successful developers required to enter into 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs).
The minimum bid capacity has been set at 50 MW, while a parent company, affiliate, ultimate parent or group company can offer a maximum of 600 MW. Developers can own the ESS or procure it from a third party.
SECI will specify four peak hours for power delivery, potentially covering non-solar evening hours and extending into the following morning. Developers will be required to supply 4,000 kWh per MW of contracted capacity during the designated peak period.
The bidding will be conducted online, followed by an e-Reverse Auction. The pre-bid meeting is scheduled for October 14, 2026, while online bid submission closes on October 29. Bids are scheduled to be opened on November 3, 2026.
