Sunsure Energy Signs 30 MWp Renewable Power PPA with Evonith Steel

Sunsure Energy has signed a 30 MWp long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Evonith Steel to supply renewable electricity to the steelmaker’s integrated manufacturing operations in Wardha, Maharashtra.

Under the agreement, power supply is scheduled to begin in October 2026, using capacity from Sunsure Energy’s operational 120 MWp solar facility in Dhule, Maharashtra. By leveraging an already operational renewable asset, the partnership is expected to enable Evonith Steel to integrate clean electricity into its operations within weeks of signing the agreement.

The renewable power supply is estimated to help Evonith Steel offset around 34,700 tonnes of CO₂e emissions annually, supporting the company’s efforts to reduce the carbon intensity of its steel manufacturing operations.

The agreement highlights the growing adoption of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) renewable energy PPAs among energy-intensive industries. Sunsure Energy said the partnership reflects a shift toward a “solution-first” approach, enabling industrial customers to access clean power with greater speed and scalability.

Sunsure Energy currently has 2.5 GW of operating and contracted capacity, with another 8.3 GW under development and construction, and is targeting 10 GW of operational capacity by 2030.
