Swaraj Tractors and Mahindra Susten have commissioned a 42 MWp group captive solar project in Bathinda, Punjab, marking one of the state’s largest such solar installations.
Developed by Mahindra Susten across approximately 141 acres, the project uses high-efficiency N-Type TOPCon bifacial solar modules mounted on fixed-tilt structures. The plant will supply renewable electricity to Swaraj Tractors’ manufacturing, assembly and foundry operations in Mohali.
The project is expected to generate around 61.54 million units of renewable electricity annually and meet approximately 50% of Swaraj Tractors’ electricity requirements. Its residual capacity is proposed to support other Mahindra Group entities in Punjab.
The commissioning strengthens the Mahindra Group’s efforts to increase renewable energy adoption and advance low-carbon manufacturing in Punjab.
