Hoymiles has introduced HiSwitch and HiBox, two new solutions designed to simplify and expand whole-home energy backup when paired with its HiOne All-in-One Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

HiSwitch combines five functions—transfer switch, circuit breaker, meter, bypass switch and CT—into one compact unit. It supports up to 100 A bypass current, is rated for 6,000 high-current switching cycles, and features a 6 kA SCCR. Its replaceable design can reduce replacement time by up to 80%, according to Hoymiles.

HiBox serves as the central control hub, enabling users to add a second inverter as their energy requirements grow. It also supports compatible third-party generators and PV inverters, while providing smart load control and system monitoring.

The new solutions are aimed at making residential energy storage more flexible, scalable and easier to install, while improving backup reliability and energy independence.

Key Highlights

  • HiSwitch integrates five functions—transfer switch, circuit breaker, meter, bypass switch and CT—into a single compact unit.
  • Its DIN-rail design allows installation directly inside the distribution board, reducing components, cabling and installation work.
  • HiSwitch supports a maximum bypass current of 100 A, covering loads ranging from lighting and kitchen appliances to other high-power devices.
  • It is rated for 6,000 high-current switching cycles and has a 6 kA short-circuit current rating (SCCR).
  • Its replaceable design allows installers to replace only the HiSwitch instead of the entire energy storage system, potentially reducing replacement time by up to 80%.
  • HiBox functions as the central hub for whole-home backup and enables the system to expand as household energy requirements increase.
  • Users can add a second inverter to increase system capacity and backup capability.
  • HiBox supports compatible third-party generators and PV inverters and provides system-wide data monitoring without requiring additional metering equipment.
  • Its smart load control feature helps manage loads connected through the Smart Port and maximise the use of available clean energy.
