BluPine Energy is expanding its presence in India’s rapidly growing Commercial & Industrial (C&I) renewable energy market, targeting a 150 MW renewable energy portfolio in Rajasthan backed by long-term, multi-client Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
The company’s Rajasthan expansion is centered around Badnoo in Bikaner, where it is developing a hybrid renewable energy project combining solar, wind and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions. Construction of the project is already underway.
BluPine Energy has signed long-term PPAs with KEI Industries Limited, Craftsman Automation and Sunbeam Lightweighting Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The company is also progressing with an additional 60–70 MW of PPAs, which will further expand its C&I renewable energy portfolio in the state.
The project is designed to cater to the growing demand from industrial consumers for reliable and cost-effective clean electricity. By combining renewable generation with battery storage, BluPine aims to move beyond conventional standalone solar projects and provide more dependable renewable power to C&I customers.
The Rajasthan development will support multiple procurement structures, including C&I, captive, group captive and open access models, giving industrial consumers greater flexibility in sourcing renewable electricity while working towards their decarbonisation targets.
BluPine Energy’s expansion in Rajasthan also forms part of its larger ambition to build a 4 GW renewable energy portfolio across India. The company’s growth strategy is supported by an $800 million equity commitment from Actis, providing a strong foundation for scaling its renewable energy platform.
The growing adoption of hybrid renewable projects, long-term corporate PPAs and BESS highlights a broader shift in India’s C&I power market. Industrial consumers are increasingly looking beyond simply purchasing green electricity and are seeking reliable, affordable and round-the-clock renewable power.
With solar, wind, energy storage and flexible procurement models coming together, projects such as BluPine’s Rajasthan portfolio could play an important role in accelerating industrial decarbonisation and strengthening India’s clean energy transition.
