Dilip Buildcon Ltd. (DBL) is advancing its asset-light “DBL 2.0” strategy with a proposed divestment of stakes in two under-construction power infrastructure SPVs to Alpha Alternatives.
The portfolio has a combined project cost of approximately ₹8,400 crore and includes large-scale solar generation and power transmission assets.
Portfolio Details
☀️ Solar Portfolio: 1,363 MW AC / 1,977 MWp DC across 10 SPVs in Madhya Pradesh
⚡ Transmission Project: 400 kV transmission project spanning approximately 470 circuit kilometres in Belagavi, Karnataka
💰 Combined Project Cost: ~₹8,400 crore
The proposed transaction will follow a phased subscription and closing mechanism, with definitive agreements yet to be executed.
Importantly, the ₹8,400 crore figure represents the combined project cost of the portfolio and not the transaction consideration.
For Dilip Buildcon, the proposed divestment forms part of its broader strategy to recycle capital, reduce balance-sheet leverage and build an asset-light, multi-asset infrastructure platform.
The transaction would also strengthen DBL’s existing strategic relationship with Alpha Alternatives while bringing institutional capital into large-scale renewable generation and transmission infrastructure.
The proposed deal reflects a broader trend in India’s energy-transition sector, where institutional investors are increasingly participating in renewable and power infrastructure while developers seek to recycle capital and redeploy it into new projects.
