Ultraviolette Automotive has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu to establish a new electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Krishnagiri district, marking a major expansion of its manufacturing footprint.
The company plans to invest ₹779 crore in the new facility, which will manufacture electric scooters and motorcycles. The project is expected to create employment opportunities for approximately 4,000 people.
The proposed investment further strengthens the Krishnagiri–Hosur automotive corridor, which is emerging as an important hub for electric vehicle manufacturing, automotive components and clean mobility.
With EV adoption accelerating across India, investments in localized manufacturing are becoming increasingly important for strengthening the domestic electric mobility ecosystem. Ultraviolette’s planned facility is expected to add further manufacturing capacity while supporting employment and industrial development in Tamil Nadu.
