ACME Cleantech Ventures, part of the ACME Group, has secured an investment of up to USD 600 million from Brookfield to support the development and construction of its growing portfolio of green molecule projects across India and the Middle East.
The investment will be made through Brookfield’s Global Transition Fund strategy, which focuses on opportunities supporting the transition towards a net-zero carbon economy. ACME Cleantech Ventures is a UK-based privately held entity established within the ACME Group to focus on its green molecules business.
The funding will support ACME’s pipeline of green ammonia and green methanol projects, including developments in India and Oman. The company is advancing new green ammonia and green methanol facilities while building partnerships with international and domestic offtakers.
ACME has secured strategic offtake partnerships with companies and institutions including Yara International, IHI Corporation, Mitsubishi Gas Chemicals, the Solar Energy Corporation of India, IFFCO, Paradeep Phosphates, Coromandel International and Indorama India.
According to Brookfield, the investment marks its entry into the green molecules sector in the region and combines its institutional capital and global scale with ACME’s project development capabilities. Brookfield has an energy portfolio of approximately 50 GW of wind and solar assets across operating projects and its development pipeline in India.
The investment is expected to accelerate ACME’s plans to establish scalable green molecule production capacity for domestic and international markets. The company aims to develop green ammonia and other green molecule projects supported by long-term offtake arrangements, targeting applications across Asia, Europe and other global markets.
The transaction strengthens the flow of institutional capital into India’s emerging green hydrogen and green molecule ecosystem, while supporting the development of large-scale clean fuel and feedstock projects. (Energetica India)
