The Motilal Oswal Group has committed ₹1,500 crore to Inox Clean Energy, the integrated renewable energy platform of the INOXGFL Group, marking a significant investment in the company’s growth and expansion strategy. Of the total commitment, ₹1,000 crore has already been invested through Compulsorily Convertible Debentures (CCDs).
The investment is expected to support Inox Clean Energy’s expansion, with a particular focus on inorganic growth, strategic acquisitions and renewable energy capacity development.
As of June 2026, Inox Clean Energy has built a 3 GW renewable Independent Power Producer (IPP) portfolio in India and is targeting more than 6 GW of operational capacity by FY27. The company is also expanding across the solar manufacturing value chain and international renewable energy markets.
Its manufacturing footprint includes a 3 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Gujarat, while a further 5 GW module and cell manufacturing facility is under development. The company has also established 3 GW of solar module manufacturing capacity in the United States.
Beyond India, Inox Clean Energy is expanding its renewable energy presence in international markets, including Africa, with projects and development activities underway in countries such as Zimbabwe.
The investment from Motilal Oswal Group comes as renewable energy platforms increasingly look toward institutional capital to fund large-scale capacity additions, acquisitions and technology-led expansion. The partnership could provide Inox Clean Energy with additional financial flexibility to pursue opportunities across power generation, manufacturing and global markets.
Backed by the broader INOXGFL ecosystem, which includes wind turbine manufacturing, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), and operations and maintenance (O&M) capabilities, Inox Clean Energy is positioning itself as an integrated renewable energy platform.
The latest investment highlights the growing role of institutional capital in India’s renewable energy sector and the increasing consolidation of large-scale renewable platforms as developers pursue ambitious capacity and manufacturing targets.
