Navgrun is planning to establish 1.2 GW of annual manufacturing capacity for advanced TOPCon G12R solar wafers and solar cells, marking a significant step towards building an integrated domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.
The planned facility will complement Navgrun’s existing 700 MW TOPCon G12R solar module manufacturing capacity, creating a more vertically integrated manufacturing chain spanning wafers, cells and modules.
Subject to project execution and commissioning, the new facility is intended to manufacture TOPCon G12R solar wafers, TOPCon G12R solar cells, advanced solar modules and Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) solutions.
By integrating multiple stages of solar manufacturing, Navgrun aims to strengthen India’s domestic supply chain, reduce dependence on imported components and improve supply-chain resilience. The development also aligns with the broader Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and India’s push to expand domestic renewable energy manufacturing capabilities.
The planned investment comes as India’s solar industry continues to scale up manufacturing capacity across the photovoltaic value chain. Advanced technologies such as TOPCon are gaining importance as manufacturers focus on improving solar cell efficiency and module performance.
With the proposed 1.2 GW wafer and cell capacity alongside its existing module manufacturing facility, Navgrun is positioning itself to participate across multiple stages of India’s rapidly expanding solar manufacturing ecosystem.
The company said it remains focused on innovation, advanced manufacturing, operational excellence and sustainable growth while contributing to India’s long-term clean energy transition.
