Ola Electric has launched its new S1Z electric scooter range, bringing its indigenously developed Bharat Cell LFP battery technology to the mass-market EV segment. The 46-series LFP cell platform was developed at Ola Electric’s Battery Innovation Centre and is manufactured at its Ola Gigafactory.
The S1Z is available in 3.1 kWh and 5.1 kWh battery variants, priced at an introductory ₹79,999 and ₹99,999, respectively. The variants offer claimed IDC ranges of up to 179 km and 301 km.
According to Ola Electric, developing and manufacturing the LFP technology in-house helps reduce battery costs, making advanced battery technology more accessible to mass-market EV buyers. The S1Z also features MoveOS 5, including cruise control, regenerative braking, GPS, OTA updates, geofencing and the Easy Park feature.
The launch marks another step in Ola Electric’s strategy to scale indigenous battery technology across more affordable electric mobility products. Deliveries are expected to begin from December 2026, with the 5.1 kWh variant scheduled for March 2027.
