Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has invited bids for setting up a 265 MW/530 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Haryana.
The scope covers the design, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the BESS project. The project is required to be completed within 14 months, with the selected bidder also responsible for 12 years of comprehensive O&M.
The tender specifies two technical eligibility routes. Under the first route, bidders must demonstrate experience in grid-connected BESS, renewable-energy projects or qualifying substation/switchyard works. The second route allows eligibility through battery manufacturing and supply experience, or through an eligible technical collaboration with a battery manufacturer.
Financial eligibility requires a positive net worth over the last three financial years, a minimum average annual turnover of ₹191.39 crore, and liquid assets or available credit facilities of at least ₹91.14 crore.
The bid submission deadline is August 31, 2026, with techno-commercial bids scheduled to be opened at 11:30 AM the same day.
The tender marks another significant step in expanding large-scale energy storage infrastructure and strengthening grid flexibility in Haryana.
