Ola Electric has secured a full five-year incentive window under the Government of India’s Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, with the revised timeline extending through calendar year 2031.

The extension covers Ola Electric’s 20 GWh cell manufacturing allocation and could unlock cumulative PLI incentives of up to ₹7,240 crore. Incentive disbursements are expected to begin quarterly from the next quarter, supporting the company as it scales its domestic cell manufacturing operations.

Ola Electric currently has 2.5 GWh of installed cell manufacturing capacity, with another 3.5 GWh under installation. The company expects to reach an initial capacity of 6 GWh by the end of the current quarter, ahead of the revised December 2026 milestone.

The company is also developing a multi-chemistry cell platform covering Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technologies. Its strategy focuses on increasing domestic battery manufacturing, localisation of materials, improving manufacturing yields and developing closed-loop material recovery.

The extended PLI window is expected to strengthen the economics of Ola Electric’s cell manufacturing business while supporting India’s efforts to build a domestic battery ecosystem for electric mobility and energy storage.

Ola Electric was among the companies selected under India’s ACC PLI programme and received the maximum 20 GWh allocation for advanced cell manufacturing.
