Sungrow Tops Global BESS Integrator Rankings as Energy Storage Installations Surpass 100 GW

Global: Sungrow has secured the No. 1 position in Wood Mackenzie’s inaugural Global Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Integrator Ranking, reinforcing its leadership in the rapidly growing energy storage industry.
The ranking evaluates companies based on technology maturity, safety, research and development, project execution, supply chain resilience, and ESG performance. Global annual Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) installations have now exceeded 100 GW for the first time, marking a major milestone in the global clean energy transition.
The top five BESS integrators include Sungrow, Tesla, CATL, BYD, and Envision, with Chinese companies leading through strong manufacturing capabilities and vertical integration. The report also highlights the importance of strengthening India’s domestic battery manufacturing ecosystem through local cell, PCS, and BMS production under the government’s 10 GWh Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) initiative.
