Trontek Expands into Battery Energy Storage, Targets 12 GWh Annual Capacity by 2028
Trontek Electronics, an Indian energy technology company, is expanding its presence in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) segment, targeting 12 GWh of annual manufacturing capacity by 2028. The company plans to cater to residential, commercial and industrial (C&I), and utility-scale applications through its Made-in-India energy storage solutions.
The expansion builds on Trontek’s experience in battery technology, electric mobility, charging infrastructure and energy solutions, positioning energy storage as a key growth area in its business.
BESS solutions across applications
Trontek’s portfolio ranges from 215 kWh systems to 5 MWh solutions, designed to address different energy storage requirements:
- 215 kWh systems: Designed for hotels, offices and small and medium-sized manufacturing facilities.
- 418 kWh systems: Intended for factories, warehouses, hospitals and industrial campuses.
- 5 MWh systems: Targeted at industrial parks, utilities and large-scale solar-plus-storage projects.
These solutions aim to support energy management, demand optimisation, power reliability, renewable energy integration and grid flexibility.
Focus on domestic manufacturing
The company is focusing on local engineering and manufacturing, supported by capabilities in battery systems, testing, system integration, technology development and service. Its approach is intended to address India’s diverse energy storage requirements while supporting the growing adoption of renewable energy.
With its 12 GWh annual capacity target by 2028, Trontek aims to expand beyond its existing battery business and establish energy storage as a significant part of its long-term growth strategy.
