GameChange Energy has broken ground on a new 300,000-square-foot Extra-High Voltage (EHV) transformer manufacturing facility in Mumbai, marking a major expansion of its power infrastructure manufacturing capabilities.
The new facility will manufacture EHV power transformers rated up to 300 MVA and 500 kV, with planned annual production capacity of 150 medium- to large-sized transformers. Production is scheduled to begin in Q1 2028, while orders are already being accepted.
The facility has also been designed to support a future expansion of GameChange Energy’s existing medium-voltage transformer operations, potentially adding capacity for another 500 transformers annually, including pad-mounted transformers.
The expansion comes as demand for transformers and critical grid infrastructure continues to grow across renewable energy, utilities, data centres and other power-intensive applications. GameChange Energy says the investment will help address transformer supply constraints while strengthening its global supply chain and manufacturing presence in India.
