Hindustan Zinc has increased the share of renewable energy in its overall power consumption to 22%, up from approximately 18% in FY26, as the company accelerates its clean energy transition.
The company is targeting 70% of its total electricity requirements from renewable sources by FY28, with the transition covering its mining and smelting operations.
During FY26, Hindustan Zinc generated 892 million units of green power, compared with 632 million units in FY25. The company has also expanded its round-the-clock renewable energy agreement with Serentica Renewables from 450 MW to 530 MW.

Hindustan Zinc’s renewable energy strategy is aimed at reducing its environmental footprint while improving the resilience and competitiveness of its mining and smelting operations. The company is also progressing towards its SBTi-validated pathway to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050 or sooner.
