Tata Power has successfully commissioned the second element of its Jalpura-Khurja Transmission Project in Uttar Pradesh, strengthening power transmission infrastructure and improving connectivity to growing electricity demand centres across the NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh.
Executed through TP Jalpura Khurja Power Transmission Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, the commissioned infrastructure includes a 400 kV double-circuit transmission line between Khurja and Jalpura spanning 162 circuit kilometres (CKM).
The project also includes a 400/220 kV GIS substation at Jalpura with 1,000 MVA transformation capacity. The substation will enable power transfer from the 400 kV high-voltage grid to the 220 kV network, supporting rising regional demand while improving grid reliability and resilience.
With this commissioning, Tata Power’s transmission portfolio has reached 7,900 circuit kilometres of lines operational and under execution across India.
