Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is expanding its renewable energy portfolio through a combination of solar, agri-solar and floating solar projects, strengthening its transition towards a more diversified clean-energy business.
Through its wholly owned subsidiary, HPCL Renewable & Green Energy Ltd. (HPRGE), the company has commissioned a 1.5 MWp floating solar project at Visakhapatnam, a 5.6 MWp agri-solar project in Delhi, and 0.74 MWp of rooftop solar installations. These projects have taken HPRGE’s total commissioned renewable capacity to 7.84 MWp.
HPCL is also progressing with its first large-scale solar project at Galiveedu, Andhra Pradesh, while continuing renewable initiatives to support the greening of its marketing locations and refineries. HPCL’s FY2025-26 investor presentation also highlights ongoing and completed renewable projects, including floating solar installations and major solar developments.
The expansion reflects the growing role of floating solar, agri-solar and distributed renewable energy in corporate decarbonisation strategies. By diversifying its renewable portfolio across multiple technologies and applications, HPCL is building clean-energy infrastructure to support its operations and broader energy-transition ambitions.
