Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) has secured a major transmission project in Maharashtra with an estimated capital expenditure of around ₹4,700 crore. The project is designed to strengthen renewable energy evacuation infrastructure and support up to 4,500 MW of renewable and pumped-storage power.
The project will include the development of a new 765/400 kV substation at Satara, a 765 kV double-circuit transmission line between Kolhapur and Satara, and augmentation of the Kolhapur pooling station along with associated transmission infrastructure.
Once completed, the project will add approximately 562 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 9,000 MVA of transformation capacity to AESL’s portfolio. The infrastructure is expected to strengthen power flows between India’s Western and Southern regions while supporting the growing renewable energy and energy-storage ecosystem across Maharashtra.
The project is also expected to facilitate the transfer of renewable power from Karnataka to key demand centres in Maharashtra, including areas around Satara, Pune and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. AESL has indicated that the project is targeted for completion within 36 months.
